Unrooting is a new exhibit by Demetra Tassiou, influenced by and depicting the plight of people displaced by recent civil wars and religious conflicts. Her sensitivity to these tragic events is reflected in the black/white mixed  media paintings that transform images of destruction and human despair into abstract symbolism.
