SALLY WALKER

Sally Walker's work is inspired by inner and outer vistas and by the colors of various landscapes. Her admiration of work by Marsden Hartley, Georgia O'keeffe, Milton Avery and Helen Frankenthaler informs her work. In general, Walker's work is abstract colorist, based on landscape shapes and figure shapes. While delicate in tone, Walker's recent collages on paper display the same strength as does her acrylic work. The recent collages are made with old documents, lace, textiles, antique postcards, and other such objects. time suspended and time recalled, currency and nostalgia fill these pieces. Humans' brief whisper of life is celebrated.
